1. How are you leading the way for customers and colleagues?
I like the metaphor of the bridge. Sometimes the bridge between Athlon and customers already exists, sometimes we have to build it and think out of the box. In the second situation, this is where we play a crucial role in our interaction with the colleagues in different countries and where our team efforts help us to successfully design solutions for our international customers.
2. Where do you think your professional career will lead you?
Hard to say. We are in a such dynamic industry and a volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous world. I think it is key to stay agile, work on acquiring new skills and competencies, discovering and cooperating with different disciplines within Athlon. But I will definitely aim to continue in a cross-functional role like today where cooperation with the other departments is key.
3. Who’s an inspiring leader to you and why?
Barack Obama by far. I was living in NYC when he was elected. It was such an unforgettable moment. I admire how much he had to work and fight to become the first black US president. Like we say in French, “Impossible n’est pas français”. I have always been amazed by his communication skills and how well he is able to convey a message, picking the right words, the right tone and body language.
4. What’s the kindest thing a colleague ever did for you?
I will always feel grateful to my former boss and colleagues when I faced a chaotic health situation at home a few years ago. They backed me up, and they trusted me that I could keep the boat afloat both at home and at the office, using more flexible working hours.
5. What’s your passion outside of work?
Sports and also traveling with my wife and two boys. I would also love to get more time to learn how to play the guitar, but a day only counts 24 hours.
