Is my lease vehicle insured in the same way outside Belgium?
When you use your leased vehicle to travel abroad, it is best to always consult your green card, which states in which countries your insurance coverage applies. You may not drive your leased vehicle in any country that is not stated on your green card.
You will also need specific authorisation from Athlon to drive to or through certain countries: a Lease@Car certificate. This concerns the following countries: Bosnia-Herzegovina, Macedonia (FYROM), Morocco, Montenegro, Romania, Servia, Tunisia, Turkey (European part), and the Vatican City.
Athlon does NOT allow you to travel to the following countries in your leased vehicle: Albania, Iran, Israel, Kosovo, Moldavia, Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, and Turkey (Asian part). How to obtain the Lease@Car certificate? Consult the question below.
