Maintenance and tyre changes

  • When do I need to have my vehicle serviced?

    Follow the maintenance scheme from the manufacturer or if your on-board computer tells you to. This way, you’ll drive more safely and avoid visible or invisible damage.

  • How do I arrange servicing?

    Make an appointment with an official brand dealer and tell them it’s for an Athlon vehicle. Even easier: make a reservation online at the Athlon Service Center (T: 02 895 33 10). Do you have a maintenance booklet? Make sure it’s filled in.For maintenance, the invoice goes straight to Athlon, as it does for extra repairs. And if they aren’t covered by your contract? Then we may have to charge you for the resulting costs.

  • Can I request a replacement vehicle for use during servicing?

    Yes, but only if this service is included in your contract. Reserve your replacement vehicle via the Athlon Driver Desk. See also: Replacement vehicles. If you’re going to the Athlon Service Center for maintenance or servicing, you’ll receive a replacement vehicle as standard. An extra little thank you from us.

  • How do I keep my lease vehicle in good condition?

    Oil level – Regularly check the oil level with the dipstick. It shows you the minimum and maximum amounts. At the Athlon Service Center, Auto 5 or an official dealer that represents your vehicle manufacturer, you can have it topped up for free. You can also go to these places for extra windshield wiper fluid.

    Tyre profile – Keep an eye on your tyre profile. As soon the excessive wear indicator blocks are visible, it’s time to replace your tyre. If tyre service is included in your contract, you can make an appointment at the Athlon Service Center or a recognised tyre center.

    Tyre pressure – Regularly check the tyre pressure. This way, you’ll avoid a blowout and reduce your fuel consumption. You’ll find the ideal pressure listed in the manufacturer’s booklet. Are you travelling with heavy luggage? Pump the cold (!) tyres up before you fully load the vehicle.

  • My vehicle has an additional tank for AdBlue. What should I know?
    Some vehicles have an additional tank for AdBlue. Vehicles equipped with such a tank cannot run without the addition of AdBlue and will stop when the AdBlue tank is empty.
    If the oil, coolant, or AdBlue needs to be refilled, the employee visits a brand dealership, an Athlon Service Center, or an Auto 5 branch that invoices Athlon for the associated costs.

  • How and when do I arrange winter tyres?

    Check whether winter tyres are included in your contract. If they are, make an appointment with the Athlon Service Center or a recognised tyre center. You are best doing this during the summer months. The winter season runs roughly from the beginning of October to the end of April. Also make time to have your summer tyres refitted.
    Give the right tyre size when you go to your appointment. Check the tyres themselves (and not the manufacturer’s booklet).

  • I have a leaky tyre. What now?

    Change the tyre immediately. Do it yourself or call Athlon Assistance (+32 (0) 78 15 02 61) at any time, day or night, if your contract gives you the right to breakdown assistance. You can also visit the Athlon Service Center or another recognised tyre center for a tyre change.
