Schiphol, February 1st, 2021 – Christian Schüler, previously President & CEO of Banco Mercedes-Benz do Brasil, succeeds Gero Götzenberger as CEO of Athlon as of today. Gero Götzenberger has joined Daimler Mobility in Stuttgart, Germany, as Global Head of Strategy and Transformation.
Christian Schüler has been with Daimler Mobility since 1996 and has held various management positions all around the globe in Asia, Europe and Latin America. In 2010, Christian Schüler became the CEO of Mercedes-Benz Compañía Financiera Argentina followed by further CEO positions in Russia and Brazil, where he headed Banco Mercedes-Benz do Brasil since 2017.

Schiphol - Fritz Karbaum is part of the Athlon Executive Committee as Chief Financial Officer since 1 January. In this role, Fritz is responsible for Finance and Controlling across Athlon. He succeeds Christian Rottenkolber who has been appointed CFO of Mercedes-Benz Financial Services North America.

Through this partnership, Athlon’s customers will have a convenient access to the largest and fastest growing, fully integrated public charging network in Europe. They will be able to charge and pay at more than 600,000 charging points in 30 countries with only one card or via app. The DCS services are GDPR-compliant and guarantee best-in-class data quality for easy charging.
