Schiphol, 1 February 2023 – Emiel van Onzenoort joins the Athlon Management Board as Chief Operations Officer (COO) per today. Emiel succeeds Peter Westermann who will return to Mercedes-Benz Mobility in Stuttgart, Germany. In this role, Emiel will be responsible for Operations across Athlon, reporting to CEO Christian Schüler.

Emiel van Onzenoort returns to Athlon after working for AGCO Finance as General Manager for Region West for two years. From 2013 until 2021, he was COO of Athlon Netherlands. Prior to that, Emiel had an international career within DLL, with assignments in General Management and Finance in Russia, Hungary and Turkey. He holds Master Degrees in Business Economics and Finance & Control and completed leadership studies at INSEAD and Nyenrode. Peter Westermann will support his onboarding before returning to Stuttgart.

Schiphol - Fritz Karbaum is part of the Athlon Executive Committee as Chief Financial Officer since 1 January. In this role, Fritz is responsible for Finance and Controlling across Athlon. He succeeds Christian Rottenkolber who has been appointed CFO of Mercedes-Benz Financial Services North America.
