
The acquisition of Athlon Switzerland AG’s fleet by Arval

Arval and Athlon today announce that Arval’s Swiss subsidiary will purchase the entire full service leasing fleet of Athlon Switzerland AG.

Michiel Alferink, currently Head of International Sales & Account Management at Athlon International, will become Managing Director of Athlon Belgium and Luxembourg per 1 April, 2020. He succeeds Erwin Ollivier, who decided to pursue opportunities outside of Athlon.

Michiel Alferink joined Athlon in 2006 and brings extensive knowledge and experience of the industry, customers and products from his previous assignments. Since 2015, he has been Head of the International Sales & Account Management. Previously, Alferink was Commercial Director for Athlon Spain and Portugal.

A piece of important automotive history has been added to the Autoworld museum in Brussels. One of Tesla's first cars, which put electric driving on the map, is now part of the museum's collection. This limited edition Roadster comes from Athlon Belgium, the first leasing company to pioneer electric mobility in 2011.
