Marchel Koops appointed Managing Director of Athlon BeNeLux

Marchel Koops brings in his broad experience and customer-focused mindset to shape the new set-up. We thank Michiel Alferink for his outstanding achievements as Managing Director of Athlon BeLux and in his previous roles within Athlon over the last 12 years. I also would like to thank Marie Lejeune for her contributions, especially during the past year as CCO of Athlon BeLux. We wish them both all the best in their future endeavors.”

Marchel Koops, Managing Director of Athlon BeNeLux: “I am excited to shape this cluster together with colleagues from the markets. The cluster set-up will enable us to work even more closely together. Combining expertise from the three markets will help us make mobility more flexible and sustainable for all our customers.” Koops has been with Athlon for over 15 years and held various positions, both in Athlon Netherlands and Athlon International. In 2019, he joined the Executive Committee as Chief Commercial Officer.

Niels van den Hoogen, CCO of Athlon BeNeLux: “I look forward to working in this international set-up. We will continue to address the specific needs of our customers with local experts, while leveraging opportunities of the BeNeLux market.” Van den Hoogen has almost 20 years of fleet experience and was appointed CCO of Athlon Netherlands in 2016.

Emiel van Onzenoort, COO of Athlon Group and Athlon BeNeLux: ”The new cluster allows us to react even faster to the needs of our customers, increases our efficiency and improves our service levels. I am really pleased to be part of the new cluster.” Van Onzenoort was COO of Athlon Netherlands from 2013 until 2021 and returned in February 2023 as COO of the Athlon Group. In the interim, Emiel van Onzenoort was General Manager for Region West at AGCO Finance.
